Swiss Paraplegic Research (SPF)
The Swiss Paraplegic Research (SPF) is the host and driving force behind the ICF Research Branch activities.
The SPF is a research institute which is funded by the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation (SPS). The premises and laboratories are located in the Guido A. Zäch Institute (GZI) which is next to the Swiss Paraplegic Center (SPZ) in Nottwil on the beautiful Lake of Sempach close to Lucerne, Switzerland.
SPF strengthens Switzerland's positioning as a research magnet - it has officially been recognized as a non-university research institution by the Swiss Federal government and the cantons and is honoured with an endowed chair at the University of Lucerne and the recently founded Department for Health Sciences and Health Policy, located in Lucerne and in Nottwil.
Moreover, SPF is taking the lead with respect to rehabilitation research from a comprehensive perspective. It is one of the few institutions worldwide that unites top scientists from different disciplines conducting rehabilitation research from a comprehensive perspective - all under one roof.
